When Colorado State University found its growth outpacing its cooling capacity, Legacy partnered with BCER Engineers on a new 5,000-ton chiller plant. The scope of the design-assist project called for piping from 10” to 30” in diameter with 100- and 125-horsepower pumps. Approximately 80 percent of the job was prefabricated at Legacy’s shop to keep the fast-track project on target. The chiller plant is one of several mechanical systems on the CSU campus bearing Legacy’s signature. Other notable projects include residence halls, dining commons, and the recent stadium addition at Sonny Lubick Field.
